Our traveling and packing habits can tell us a great deal about how we live and the level of satisfaction we get from our daily lives.
Some people travel heavy. They simply pack loads of things, not leaving even the smallest room in their suitcases empty. It’s not just about the suitcases. They tend to take a backpack, a handbag, and carry-on luggage as well. They have to carry all these bags to their destination, worrying all the time lest they might lose them or have them stolen. They sure can’t enjoy their trip much, at least as far as my experience tells.
On the other hand, light travelers pack a change of clothes and their camera in a small bag and hit the road. Their hands are free, so are their eyes and their minds. They move quickly from place to place, not worrying that they might leave their bag on the train or plane or in the hotel they’ve stayed.
Scientists have carried out countless experiments and have proved that emotions and feelings, including fear, anger, guilt, stress, and worry, take up room in the brain, leaving less room for us to focus on other essential things. Our brain could be just like a heavy suitcase packed with all sorts of unnecessary emotions and feelings or a small, easy-to-carry backpack with some negative thoughts we can handle…
